Andrew is a Senior Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Major at the University of Delaware with a Minor in Biomechanical Engineering graduating in May of 2018. Andrew was a 3 year Division I athlete on the University of Delaware Men's Lacrosse Team, and has 2 years of Research experience in the Human Robotics Lab developing an MR-compatible robot to study the neural processes responsible for motor-learning and neurological injury recovery.
Claire is a Senior Undergraduate Biomedical Engineering Major at the University of Delaware graduating in May of 2018. Claire is enrolled in the 4+1 MBA program and will receive her Masters in Business Administration in May of 2019. Claire is named on a number of patents including a Patent for a Self-Cleaning Laproscope as a result of a Senior Design Project which received the Biomedical Engineering Chairperson's Award for utility, novelty, and marketability of final product design. In additon, Claire has volunteered on a Public Health Project in Cambodia where she operated in medical clinics and performed blood test.
Founder and acting CPO/CPed of Independence Prosthetics - Orthotics. John has over 17 years of experience in the prosthetics and orthotics field and is certified by the American Board for Certification (ABC) in prosthetics, orthotics, and pedorthics. John completed the Prosthetic/Orthotic Certification Course at Northwestern University.
At 15 years old, John was diagnosed with bone cancer and underwent a below the knee amputation to remove the tumor. His personal experience with prosthetics led to a passion with continued innovation in the field and founding of Independence Prosthetics - Orthotics as well as Empowered Technologies LLC.
Sean has over 3 years of experience in the Prosthetics and Orthotics field as a Lab Technician for Independence Prosthetics - Orthotics. As a technician for Independence Sean has valuable patient experience and developed a number of innovative projects for human enhancement. In his free time, Sean is an active member in the Maker's Movement.
